George Schiefer has been an integral member of Living Water Community Church for several years, contributing his skills and dedication in numerous capacities. He currently serves on the Deacon/Deaconess Committee, the Nominating Committee, the W.A.L.K outreach ministry, and the Building and Grounds team. Before retiring to Ocean Gate, NJ, George worked as a carpenter in New York City, a profession that honed his talents and deepened his heart for service.
Married to his wife, Michelle, for over 40 years, George has made a significant impact on the church community through his commitment and craftsmanship. He utilizes his extensive carpentry skills to maintain and enhance the church building, creating much of the beautiful decor that members and visitors enjoy today. Beyond his practical contributions, George is also a valued member of the worship team, where he shares his musical talents by playing the bass guitar.
George's servant heart is evident in his willingness to help wherever needed, always ready to lend a hand and support the church’s mission. His faith journey began in his youth on Staten Island, where he first came to know Jesus as his savior. This foundational faith has grown over the years, enriched by his and Michelle's shared commitment to church service, including their previous roles on the building committee and worship team.
In addition to his church involvement, George is deeply committed to honoring and supporting military veterans. He is a long-standing member of Rolling Thunder, an organization dedicated to serving and honoring those who have served in the armed forces. George’s multifaceted service reflects his deep faith and dedication to living out the principles of love, service, and community.
